Research into epilepsy currently uses a large number of animals, including guinea pigs. The results are of limited value as they do not fully capture the complex electrical patterns of the human condition and have failed to assist in the design of evidence based drugs for treatment.

This ground-breaking project aims to address these shortcomings by examining the issue directly in humans with Electroencephalography (EEG).
