Volunteer's Week helps raise awareness
As part of Volunteer’s Week, the Dr Hadwen Trust set up an information awareness stall in the Market Square in Hitchin.
The aim was to attract more volunteers to the DHT and to celebrate Volunteers Week.
Volunteers Week is an annual campaign organised by Volunteering England which celebrates the fantastic contribution that millions of volunteers make across the UK.
Despite the showers of rain which kept quite a lot of people indoors, the DHT day was a success. Lots of leaflets, DHT balloons, supermarket tokens and keyrings, butterfly bugs and DHT pens were snapped up by shoppers and local people. Specially made cakes also proved popular and helped raise valuable funds.
