No mean 'feet' – sponsor Sarah to walk 250 mile Cornish coast path to stamp out animal suffering

Latest News

Passionate animal lover, Sarah Brown, is in training to walk an impressive 250 miles along the Cornish Coastal Path to raise awareness and funds for two charities working hard to end animal suffering. The coastal trek from Bude to Looe will start on July 16 th, take approximately two weeks to complete and will benefit the Captive Animals’ Protection Society and the Dr Hadwen Trust for Humane Research.

CAPS campaigns on behalf of animals in the entertainment industries, such as circuses and zoos. It aims to prevent the exploitation of captive animals and achieve a ban on animal circuses. The Dr Hadwen Trust is the UK’s leading medical research charity that funds exclusively non-animal methods to replace animal experiments, benefiting people and animals. Sarah’s walk is also conducted in memory of her rescue dog Mitzi, who died in May 2005, following eight happy years with Sarah.
Says Sarah:

“I’m appalled at the exploitation of animals in circuses and many other similar diabolical captive situations. Ever since I listened to a CAPS talk many years ago, I knew I had to support them. Vivisection is another issue I feel very strongly about – that is why I have also chosen the Dr Hadwen Trust. I want to raise the profile of these animal organisations because they are doing such a fantastic job fighting the exploitation of animals. Please help me raise as much money as possible.”

Walking 250 miles along the Cornish coastline is by no means a walk in the park. Her challenge will include rocky paths and extremely steep climbs. But Sarah feels she will be spurred on by her passion for animal protection and the knowledge that her efforts may inspire others to do more to save animals from unnecessary suffering. Sarah’s feet are even going cruelty-free with vegan walking boots donated by Ethical Wares.

To sponsor Sarah and help end the suffering of animals in laboratories, circuses or zoos, donate online using special instruction “Sponsor Sarah Brown”. Thank you for your generosity – your support will keep Sarah going during her challenge!
